And they are all good! They tested for Downs and Trisomy 18 last Monday and I got a call yesterday from the doctor's office and they said that the numbers that came back were "normal" and "exccellent"! Such a relief! We go back again at 16 weeks for another blood test just to double check the numbers again (standard procedure for the sequencial scan). We also went in for our regular every two week appt with Dr. G, and the sono tech confirmed for us that we did indeed have a little boy and a little girl in there! As it turns out though, the doctor at the genetics office had Baby A and Baby B switched from what my reg obgyn was called them so... Baby A is the girl and Baby B is the boy! Baby A (our little princess) has been quite active in every ultrasound, while Baby B (our precious boy) seems to be much more laid back... I wonder if this is any indication of how they will be in real life???
More good news... the babies are actually measuring further along than they are, which makes me feel soooo good! I am always concerned about their growth since I have not gained any weight - I guess they really are just taking it all! They said my cervex looked awesome - so no signs of concern for pre-term labor or plecenta previa (other issues that scare me). The babies are about 2 1/2 inches each and will probably grow another inch in the next week! It still doesn't seem real to me - maybe once I actually have a belly and can feel them it will. So excited... tomorrow will mark our first big milestone... end of the first trimester! I feel like I can breath a little easier knowing that we have made it this far complication free! Every day I stop and really thank God... I have never felt so blessed... I often feel undeserving of such amazing blessings.
In other news, I have been battling a cold/allergies for about a week now - it's awful! Coughing, sneezing, itchy watery eyes, soar throat, the works! I am hoping that it passes soon.
Now, the challenge begins on deciding on names and nursery ideas!
Baby Girl (A) - 12 weeks 5 days
Baby Boy (B) - 12 weeks 5 days
I am 10 weeks and 5 days today! We had another dr appt. today (we have one every 2 weeks until the end of August and then it goes to every week). I always get so nervous leading up to dr. appts - and as soon as I see those babies all the fears just melt away! They are getting so big! It was crazy seeing them swimming around and moving around in there! Baby A was very active, Baby B seems to be more laid back. Their heartbeats were a high and steady 170 and 173 :) The sono tech made her early guess that we've got 2 boys in there - whereas the nurse seems to think 2 girls - so maybe we'll get one of each :) We'll know for sure in a few weeks! Dr. G said everything looks "perfect" - my favorite word to hear! So far, I have gained a whole pound - woo hoo! I don't want to jinx myself, but so far this has been the easiest pregnancy ever! I pray that it continues to go this well. I have attached a picture of both babies and really good one of Baby A - so cute!
Babies 10 weeks 5 days
Baby A - 10 weeks 5 days
Well, I am officially 10 weeks today!! We had a blast in Vegas for Jeremy's surprise b-day bash, and although I didn't come away with a million bucks, I did leave with a little baby bump! Everything is still go so smoothly it's amazing - I feel very blessed. We go in next Monday, the 19th for our next OB appt and we get to see our little babies! They have now graduated from embryo stage to fetuses! I can't wait to see them and see how much bigger they are now :)
We're going to Houston this weekend to visit my very good friend Lea for her little boy's 1st birthday! She has stock piled baby bottles, maternity clothes, and other misc baby stuff - so I am pretty pumped to get some hand me downs and start our own little stock pile! I'm not sure how much longer I am going to be able to wear regular pants - they are starting to feel a little snug!
Best part of today... there are only 7 more weeks of school left!!!!!
6 weeks pregnant (no bump yet)
10 weeks - I know I look like crap
We had our first OB appt. today with Dr. Garner. I was so nervous waiting for the sonogram - I guess I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop or for someone to pull the rug out from under me. I haven't gained any weight at all despite eating enormous amounts of food (something I would ordinarily be thanking God for) and I was really getting worried that I wasn't eating enough - and I want so badly to do everything right. All I wanted was to see both babies and their little heartbeats and I would be fine. Luckily, they ushered us into the sono room 1st thing :) Within minutes we saw our little babies floating around, hearts beating! We were shocked at how much they have grown in the last 11 days (days since our last sono) - they're huge! You can clearly tell that they are babies! Their heads are about half the size of their whole body, and you can see their little arms and feet! It is just so unreal! The tech said that Baby A was showing off for us - so we got the best pics of him/her - he/she looks like a little penguin! They are both about 1/2 an inch long and growing by the second! Our nurse seems to think that we have two girls based on their heartrates! Baby A's heartrate was 163 and Baby B's was 175 (anywhere between 100 and 200 is good). Dr. G told us that we would get to see the babies every time we came in - which made me very happy! We have this picture frame that my mom bought me for Christmas that says "All because two people fell in love" - and Jason is so cute - every time we get a new ultrasound picture, he cuts it out and replaces it in the frame! He has it up on the mantle with two little bibs next to it that some friends of ours gave us (I love mommy and I love daddy) - it's like his little shrine! I fall in love with him all over again every time I see him get so excited and full of love for these little babies! Our next appointment is on April 19th (10ish weeks), and then our next one after that will be at 13 weeks and we will do a genetic test that will reveal the gender of our babies! I can't believe we get to find out so soon - I am sooooo excited! In the meantime... here are some pictures of our little miracles:

We had our second u/s yesterday afternoon, and both babies are perfect! They are growing just as they should and they have perfect little heartbeats! This week, they are the size of blueberries - and oh how I love my little blueberries! We get to see them again April 5th at my first OB appt. now that I have been released from my RE. It was weird leaving the office, it felt like graduation and I was hugging all my teachers goodbye! But then again I'm a dork!
It was so much fun (and exhausting) getting to tell our close friends and family over the last week! And then, we get to re-live the excitement all over again and let them know that not only are we pregnant but... WE'RE HAVING TWINS! Oh my goodness, it still hasn't sunk in yet! On Friday, we had our first sono which revealed two little sacs, and two little heartbeats! Hearing their little hearts beating was the coolest thing EVER! Like clockwork - the waterworks were a flowin! On Friday, I was officially 6 weeks and 2 days, and our little ones were measuring 6 weeks 1 day and baby b was 6 weeks 2 days - right on schedule! Baby A's heart rate was 111 bpm and baby B was 117 bpm - exactly where they should be :) We are just SO overjoyed and feel so, so blessed to get to be their parents. You pray and try for so long for just one baby - and then to get two - WOW! I think the greatest thing I heard that day was my doctor telling us that we now have a less than 5% chance for miscarriage - talk about a giant wave of relief! For some reason (I've never had one) I had this crippling fear of miscarriage - I guess that's normal though (or at least that's what I like to think). With that said, we decided we could not hold our little secret - scratch that secrets - in any longer - we had to tell people! It was so hard "lying" to our friends and family this whole time (no one except Memi knew about the 3rd cycle) - especially my mom! I called my mom on Saturday and told her that she could tell people - and no sooner did I say that did she say "Ok, I gotta go!" and the phone marathon was on! Grandmas are so cute :) We told our church group (they knew about the cycle) the big news today and I know we will certainly be continuing to lean on them for support and prayer throughout this -hopefully uneventful- pregnancy! My heart races and I get scared and a bit overwhelmed sometimes just thinking about it - TWO OF EVERYTHING! Jason better hope it's not two girls! Can you imagine... 2 American Girl dolls, two prom dresses (a year), two homecoming dresses (a year), two cars, two college funds, TWO WEDDINGS! Just breathe... we will as Tim Gunn says, "Make it work" :)
We get to go in again next Thursday for a second sono and then we are released to my regular OB (who I am very excited for Jason to meet - he's a riot). I guess we just bought our ticket for the next crazy rollercoaster journey!
