It's a Boy... And a Girl!!!

We went in today for our genetic tests and NT scan with the perinatologist. We were hoping to find out the gender of our babies in about a week through the blood test, but... she was able to tell us with 99% certainty that we have a girl in there and she was about 95% sure that the other one was a boy! We are soooo excited! Jason was so cute - he got so exicted and squeezed my hand with unbridled joy when she said "girl" - I guess he secretely really wanted a girl and didn't know it! He's going to be such a good daddy - and  that little girl will be wrapped around his little finger :) Other great news - everything looked great and perfect on the scan! I love going to the doctor and hearing the words "great" and "perfect"- they are music to my ears! The babies decided to switch roles on us today... Baby A who is usually the show off and really active was more laid back today, and Baby B took center stage and was a little wiggle worm - those crazy kids! It was so cute - the dr. was able to get a couple shots that looked like they were looking at each other (see below). We also saw them dancin around and Baby B was opening and closing her mouth - so cool! It was really funny because, the doc asked if we wanted to know the gender, and we of course said "YES" - and she said well I can def tell you one of them (which we took to mean it was probably a boy) - but it was a GIRL! Then she said - let's see if we can see about Baby A - as she was scanning around, baby b spread his legs real big and I swear he was waving his hand around and pointing at his manly parts like he knew we were looking and he was saying "look - it's right here!" - too funny! I wish I had a video to prove it!  I can't wait until Monday when we can see the babies again and see what the sono tech at Dr. G's office thinks of their gender (last time she predicted two boys)!

So, over the weekend Jason and I went to the mall and decided to pop into a maternity store just to check out what kind of ugliness I have to look forward to and to see how much we should expect to spend on said ugly clothes. Well, they happen to have a belly suit that you can try on underneath your clothes, - so you can see what you might look like at 9 months. Wow - that was a scary glimpse into my future! Sure glad that doesn't happen overnight! Check out the pic below - too funny!

Still no weight gain yet - but I am just counting it as another blessing. I have never felt so blessed in my life! God is so great!

Updated Sono Pics!

I am 10 weeks and 5 days today! We had another dr appt. today (we have one every 2 weeks until the end of August and then it goes to every week). I always get so nervous leading up to dr. appts - and as soon as I see those babies all the fears just melt away! They are getting so big! It was crazy seeing them swimming around and moving around in there! Baby A was very active, Baby B seems to be more laid back. Their heartbeats were a high and steady 170 and 173 :) The sono tech made her early guess that we've got 2 boys in there - whereas the nurse seems to think 2 girls - so maybe we'll get one of each :) We'll know for sure in a few weeks! Dr. G said everything looks "perfect" - my favorite word to hear! So far, I have gained a whole pound - woo hoo! I don't want to jinx myself, but so far this has been the easiest pregnancy ever! I pray that it continues to go this well. I have attached a picture of both babies and really good one of Baby A - so cute!

10 Weeks & Growing!

Well, I am officially 10 weeks today!! We had a blast in Vegas for Jeremy's surprise b-day bash, and although I didn't come away with a million bucks, I did leave with a little baby bump! Everything is still go so smoothly it's amazing - I feel very blessed. We go in next Monday, the 19th for our next OB appt and we get to see our little babies! They have now graduated from embryo stage to fetuses! I can't wait to see them and see how much bigger they are now :)
We're going to Houston this weekend to visit my very good friend Lea for her little boy's 1st birthday! She has stock piled baby bottles, maternity clothes, and other misc baby stuff - so I am pretty pumped to get some hand me downs and start our own little stock pile! I'm not sure how much longer I am going to be able to wear regular pants - they are starting to feel a little snug!
Best part of today... there are only 7 more weeks of school left!!!!!

The Twins - 8 weeks 5 days

We had our first OB appt. today with Dr. Garner. I was so nervous waiting for the sonogram - I guess I am always waiting for the other shoe to drop or for someone to pull the rug out from under me. I haven't gained any weight at all despite eating enormous amounts of food (something I would ordinarily be thanking God for) and I was really getting worried that I wasn't eating enough - and I want so badly to do everything right. All I wanted was  to see both babies and their little heartbeats and I would be fine. Luckily, they ushered us into the sono room 1st thing :) Within minutes we saw our little babies floating around, hearts beating! We were shocked at how much they have grown in the last 11 days (days since our last sono) - they're huge! You can clearly tell that they are babies! Their heads are about half the size of their whole body, and you can see their little arms and feet! It is just so unreal! The tech said that Baby A was showing off for us - so we got the best pics of him/her - he/she looks like a little penguin! They are both about 1/2 an inch long and growing by the second! Our nurse seems to think that we have two girls based on their heartrates! Baby A's heartrate was 163 and Baby B's was 175 (anywhere between 100 and 200 is good). Dr. G told us that we would get to see the babies every time we came in - which made me very happy! We have this picture frame that my mom bought me for Christmas that says "All because two people fell in love" - and Jason is so cute - every time we get a new ultrasound picture, he cuts it out and replaces it in the frame! He has it up on the mantle with two little bibs next to it that some friends of ours gave us (I love mommy and I love daddy) - it's like his little shrine! I fall in love with him all over again every time I see him get so excited and full of love for these little babies! Our next appointment is on April 19th (10ish weeks), and then our next one after that will be at 13 weeks and we will do a genetic test that will reveal the gender of our babies! I can't believe we get to find out so soon - I am sooooo excited! In the meantime... here are some pictures of our little miracles:
